Charles The Octopus

Here is a new little friend I did using paper. I enjoyed cutting him out and making the wonky eyes.

Time To Play!

I don't know what motivated me to do this. I have had the idea rolling around in my head/notebook for a long time. It's just something fun I did!

I did this using scraps of paper from my huge pile and a little bit of dye ink. If you interested in this print I will have it available in my Etsy shop soon.

Sea Horse and Shell

Working on this sea horse took quite awhile. I was holding my breath a lot because I was afraid I was going to blow the tiny bits all over the cutting mat. I know this happens from experience!

I created these by using cream colored cardstock and pastels.

Curious

My butterfly garden is coming back from a nasty winter freeze and I am so happy! We live on a busy street and so many times last Summer people walking would stop and comment about all the butterflies. My garden is small but packs a powerful punch!

This is how I feel in my garden...I am always trying to find the goodies.

Here is a close up... I will be sure to post a picture when I get finished. I plan to have it on a wood canvas to sell at the next artist market in June.

So True! Books Are Wonderful!

8X10 paper and dye ink

I wasn't much of a reader when I was younger but now I LOVE to read (I don't make enough time for it). A friend tried to talk me into getting a Kindle but I'm totally old school when it comes to books. I love the feel of the pages, cover illustrations, using my paper book marker, and seeing all the pages I've read makes me happy. However, the all time best part is when I am all done, placing it on my bookshelf along with all my other "I've enjoyed all these books" place. That's the best!

Orchid and Birds

I've been working on some little 4x6 pieces with birds and orchids. My husband bought me an orchid the other day and taking care of this beautiful plant is tricky...only water certain times, don't get the leaves wet, certain temperature for day and night...goodness how do these things survive in the nature? I totally understand why people buy plastic ones. However, my husband and I are on a mission not to kill it. Wish us luck.

I don't need to worry about this one I'm working on
It's going to go on the blank green canvas. The two little birds in the background are almost done. The blue one says, "make simple a way of life" and the yellow one says "appreciate the many things that make your life so valuable".  I will show you better pictures when I get them all done.

working, working

Look at my messy desk! I have to clean it off after every project but then as soon as I get going on another it totally looks exactly like this again. Totally doesn't bother me until I see it in pictures Yikes! It's my crazy, messy, joyful place where I can make orchids that don't need to be watered.

Ocean Deep

ocean deep
ocean blue

It's all done! I know this is a terrible picture but I wanted to be able to show the entire piece. I have some close ups of the jellyfish and sea horses below.

Peacock #2

Look at the mess on the desk! You should see the floor...yikes

I still have so much work to do on this peacock! I got tired of cutting tail feathers so I decided to take a break for the moment and paint.

Psalms 63:4 Finished

I finished this piece today and took some blurry pictures of it. My camera is going downhill because I have two boys that will not leave it alone. The poor lens seems destined to forever have kid's fingerprints on it!

I was happy to finish up the piece for James and am looking forward to dropping it off at the benefit held at my parent's church.

40X40 wood frame (yep, I made it) paper, paint and dye ink. Lots of love and elbow grease are added into the mix.

Art For James

I am participating in a fundraiser to help a family friend who was critically injured in a car accident. I am doing this artwork especially for the benefit so hopefully it will raise some money for his family.

I'm not done with it but I will show you more pictures later when I finish.
