Never Give Up!

Here is the picture I took...yep that's my hand holding the heart.
I got a boo boo on my thumb (darn fire ant!)

now here is the piece all done...YAY!

I like to remind myself of this quote often. Sometimes I tell my husband I should just give in and get a full time job with a regular paycheck but I always tend to chicken out. I love being an artist and can't imagine doing anything else. Do you ever get discouraged? What are some ways you stay focused and positive?

Oh Jen I love it. I need to put that picture on my bathroom mirror. Sorry about your booboo.
Maybe someone will kiss it and make it all better LOL

Jen, As artist I think we tend to be our worst critics. Wouldn't you agree. When I am feeling discouraged I just look through my blog list and become inspired by all the artist seeking to share their work just like me. Art is something spiritual for me and it becomes something material that I can share with others, a little piece of me. You are using you gifts and that is what I believe we are called to do. Keep up the great work. Your work is very inspiring for others. Many Blessings, Deborah

i love your art jen! glad to have found you...
yes, i do get discouraged...pursuing this art thing has really gotten me out of my comfort zone. what keeps me on track, positive and focused is what i keep coming back to...creativity is god's gift to me and making art is my gift back to him and others....he has commissioned me to do it, and who can complain?!!! not a bad way to spend your time...
hugs...

for some reason your comment link leads to a profile that is not linked to your blog. sorry if i have mentioned this before...it is just easier for me if i can click on a comment link and go straight to that person's blog.....

This my friend is lovely. Your hand is fabulous and what a great quote. Love it!

I am constantly trying to re-motivate myself. Reading other art blogs helps, walking outside helps, sometimes just picking up a paint brush without a plan helps. There is no answer but if you try a little bit of everything, you'll find some motivation along the way!

I am reading the House Rules too. I just had coffee with a friend who has a son with severe autism and she was a little disappointed with the portrayal of the autistic boy. I do have to say that I find it fascinating and a little peak inside a world I had no idea was so challenging. I am enjoying it so far. Hope you do too!

PS. Do not get a full time job. You are too talented to give up your art or just make it a weekend hobby!
