Edgar Medina Studio...LOVE

Tonight I made my way into town to visit Edgar Medina, an amazing artist here in Houston. He was the featured artist at Langford Market in Rice Village near Rice University. He is such a super guy and talented artist to boot!!

The picture below is from Vox Culture last Friday... Edgar's work is on the right side of the wall.

Check out his website to see more of his art. You'll be glad you did.

STOMP

My girlfriend took me to see STOMP for my birthday and it was wonderful! I can't believe how talented these people are! Not only to do what they do with everyday items but to basically do cardio for 90 minutes. I guess what surprised me the most was the fact that there was no talking and yet it was really funny. If you have a chance to check it out in your city it's worth it.

New Postcard From Postcrossing

Look at the new postcard I received from Christa in the Netherlands. This postcard traveled 5,042 miles and took 14 days to get to me. I just love Postcrossing!!

Scrap Wood Paint Storage

I had all this scrap wood left over from making frames and decided
to make a shelf for some of my paints.

Do you like my sander/saw? It totally cracks me up because my grandfather made this from a bunch of leftover parts he had from his machine shop (it's all scraps). My Dad gave it to me about two years ago and I just love it, mostly because my grandfather has passed away and when I use it I think of him. I bet when he was making it he never thought his granddaughter would be using it on a weekly basis.

I decided to give the shelf a white wash so the plain wood would have some kind of color.
Ta-da! My new paint storage shelf. Now I can use my old one for the larger jars.
