David Adickes Sculpturworx

I finally made my way to David Adickes Studio here in Houston last week. I've been wanting to go ever since a friend told me about it back in June. I didn't get to go inside because it was a Sunday but I did get to see great stuff on the property. You can see many more pictures of finished sculptures here

Gotta love The Beatles!

Pretty cool tree huh? Well, it's metal, rebar, and canvas. Take a closer look:

Artist C.W. Roelle LO VE

Ever had an artist that you just went nuts for? Well, one of my all time favorite artists is CW Roelle. I LOVE his wire work. I have messed with wire and know first hand how hard it is to work with. Maybe that's why I admire his work so much.

"Still Life In The Kitchen"

I mean really check out the detail in the border of this piece. How long do you think it took?

"Frog and Toad"

"Rowhouses"

"Dancers #3"

He did a series of two hundred wire cheese sculptures not long ago and now at Tiny Showcase you can get a print with a sampling from the two hundred cheese sculptures. You can see all the cheese in his Flickr portfolio.

My Seasonal Tree

I finally took pictures of my little seasonal tree. I started with a box of Fall goodies I picked up from a store here and there...foam pumpkins, acorns, acorn bells, felt leaves, wood leaves, turkeys, buttons and cinnamon sticks. I used most of the items and made a garland with hemp.

Look at these great buttons I found ...so cute!

I made these leaves with leftover felt. They were really easy to make! Just cut out your leaf and sew it around the edge and down the middle. Then I used a large needle and strung the hemp through the leaf and tied a cinnamon stick.

Here is a paper-mache house I made with lots and lots of crushed glass on it.

I enjoy my little seasonal tree...I guess because it makes the season last a tiny bit longer for me.

Two Friends Sledding

For some reason I fell in love with the idea of two birds sledding on a candy cane. Wouldn't it be fun to go sledding with a friend on a giant candy cane? Of course, we would need to stop and warm back up with some hot chocolate when we were done. Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming so fast! I just love this time of year with all the decorations, lights, yummy food, cooler weather, and holiday music just to name a few. I am just soaking it all in.

Terrarium Snowmen Friends

Here are two friends skating together at the pond. How long has it been since you've ice skated? When I was a kid my Aunt used to take my brother and I all the time. I loved it! After hours of skating we would stop by the candy store and get gummy bears. Yummo!

Have a great weekend!
Jen
