New Art Thursday

Here is some new art I have been busy working on. I don't know what my obsession is with hands but it continues.

M&J Trimming Love!

I was in New York not long ago and made my way back to M&J Trimming. This place is amazing...you could seriously spend hours looking at buttons alone. I went in wanting purse handles but they were all sold out. If you are a ribbon, lace, button, tassel junkie then this store needs to be on your "bucket list"!

Are you ready to drool?

Vintage Ornaments SCORE!

Today I made my way to the resale shop in my neighborhood and I found these vintage ornaments. I scored this entire box for $2.00! I love being in the right place at the right time.

Colorful Monday

It's been raining for two days and I just needed some color. Just a little something to lift my spirits.
Enjoy!

Terrarium

Yes, Christmas is here at Colorfly Studio. I'm starting earlier this year so I don't get far behind. This is the first terrarium in a series of four I am working on. More to come....

Glitter Star How To

Several people have asked how to make these so I put together a little "how to"

You need to cut (12) 2" x 2" squares and slightly fold and pinch the end

next, place some glue (Judikins Diamond Glaze works great)
to the side of the square then fold and press

punch two circles for the front and back of your star

start gluing your cones around the circle making sure that they are tip to tip in the middle of the circle. When you get them all down let them dry and then glue your second circle on top.

It is SO much easier to use double sided paper or cardstock but if you don't have it the next best thing is to paint it like I did below.

use spray adhesive to the inside of the cones and sprinkle them with glitter (use some gloves so your hands don't get all sticky)

Last but not least punch a hole and thread your ribbon...yay! you have an ornament or gift box bow thingamabob.

More Halloween Paper Ornaments

Yes, I'm still playing around with Halloween ornaments and decorations. I made my way over to Archivers the other afternoon and ran across some Halloween paper I couldn't pass up.  So I decided to make some glitter star ornaments and candy cone ornaments.

BoBunny Boo Crew paper...cuteness!

I think I'm all done now...my little tree can't handle much more.

Dan The Monster Man

I always enjoy watching Dan The Monster Man in action. Can you believe he is a math teacher? Also do you think his little cat helped him while he was working?

Fun Clock and Dreams

Here is a cutesy clock I made out of paper and a bit of paint. It was fun and the fact it actually tells time is the kicker! When I put the battery in and the little hands started working I actually squealed out loud. Isn't it funny how little things like that makes us giddy?

Oh, here is a piece I will be selling at the First Saturday's Artist Market on Saturday. You guys know I love to do paper hands and paper letters so this was super fun for me.

Have a wonderful weekend!
