Artist Sarah Beetson

Just wanted to share artist Sarah Beetson. I love her work and think she totally rocks it. I love her use of colors and line everything just comes together so well. It seems so funky and fun...love it!

My favorite piece of hers that I have seen is the heals and striped socks. Lots of lime green and pink...can't go wrong. You can see more of her work at the ispot.

What's Your Favorite Color?

We all know when you put that quarter into the gumball machine you are secretly wishing for your favorite color/flavor. I always want the pink one...can't really explain it I think it just tastes more like bubblegum. Silly, I know.

When you see that white one coming you just shake your head and think, "man! I hate the white ones". However, that was your last quarter and you end up chewing it anyway. So don't you love the feeling when you see your favorite color come out of the machine into your eagerly waiting hand? Now that's happiness to me!

Flower Garden

I wish my flower garden really looked like this. Right now all my pretty flowers are dead from this crazy Houston heat. On Friday I spent time in my flower bed pulling all my dead azalea plants and flowers. My poor yard was in desperate need of watering but don't you know the minute I get the water hose out a storm blows in and buckets of water fall from the sky. That's how things roll for me.

Red Poppies Cut Paper Collage

I don't know what it is but I think poppies are such beautiful flowers. My all time favorites are tulips and hydrangea's (really you can't go wrong with those). I am considering getting these paper flowers from Paper Source and use them as decoration on some gifts.

Oh, if you check out Paper Source website you must check out the how to videos. The lady in them is hilarious! I don't think they do demos before they start video taping. She is all over the place silly and burning herself with the hot glue gun and solder iron. She is constantly laughing at herself and I just love that! She definitely leaves you with the feeling that if she can do this I certainly can.


Here is a poppy piece I did this week. Almost got the poppy fever out of my system I just need to make those darn flowers!

New Art Papers Happy

Today I made a trip to my favorite art store Texas Art Supply to pick up some new papers. I was in paper heaven because they had some new papers I had not seen. I have to practice self control because the papers really add up. I could go crazy in the paper department in that place.

Autism Chew Tube

So for those who don't know, I have a ten year old with Autism. He totally ROCKS! Super great kid who has come a loooonnnnggg way. He has oral motor issues (like a lot of kids with Autism) we have found him chewing on your basics like remotes, pens, rubber bands, tinker toys, any kind of plastic basically, even batteries! He chews gum a lot but we have to remind him to get it sometimes when we see him chewing on a lego or tinker toy. I found some great Super Chew Tubes that are wonderful. I had to buy six of them and basically put them in every room of the house but they work great. I got mine from an Ebay store but have seen them in the Abilitations catalog. If you have a child that can't stop chewing this is a great find!

Here is something new I have been working on. I wanted to do something with orange and green ... mission accomplished! I have prints for sale in my Etsy shop.

I did this with paper and dye ink...I love my X-acto blade!

She Has A Creative Spirit

Here is some new art I have been working on. I remember when I was a kid I LOVED to swing! I remember trying to go high enough to flip around the bar. Thankfully, that never happened but it was fun trying. I was swinging with my two boys the other day at the park and not much has changed.

Some Kind of Wonderful

Remember 1987? Of course you do...it's the year John Hughes brought us the movie Some Kind of Wonderful. I watched it the other day on TBS or TNT, I can't remember, and it brought back those 80's memories. I was reminded in the kissing scene about this great Stephen Duffy song "She Loves Me". Once again I rushed over to iTunes to buy it and it's not available. Just my luck! I had to buy the CD on Ebay for one song because I wasn't crazy about any of the others. Well, I guess I can say I WON because I downloaded to my iTunes "fun songs" play list. YAY!

I just think this artist rocks! I talked to him while at an art fair and he was the nicest guy. His work looks amazing in person and worth every penny.
