We Rock!

I bought these fun bracelets that say "We Rock" for me and one of my best girlfriends. I purchased them on Etsy at Redtree's shop. I really like the way they turned out and she shipped them so fast my head spun!

FYI- We know were total goobers!

Something Simple

Here are some simple things I have been working on

Pneumonia Strikes Again

Yep, once again have Pneumonia (on going saga). I have the best husband in the world because he took sick days to stay home and help out with the kids. I have basically spent a week in bed feeling miserable. However, I am on antibiotics and life is returning back to normal (at least my normal). One problem though, I can't find my glasses and that's not such a good thing because they were my back up pair. Have you ever tried looking for glasses when you don't have your glasses on? It's kinda hard because you can't see a dang thing. I am back in my studio (best place ever) but everything is blurry so I am going to stick to simple things until I can enlist the help of 20/20 vision to help with the hunt to locate my specs.

Thursday...Sick Day

I have been very sick for two days now. I just got done eating some Campbells Chicken and Stars and drinking some Gatorade. Yuck...just reading that makes me gag.

I ran across a fun and interesting quiz today I wanted to share. Be sure and let me know how you do (I got 75%)

He Just Makes Me Happy

Rainy Day Fun

Yesterday was very rainy so my girlfriend and I decided to head to the indoor ice skating rink. Here is my youngest waiting for the Zamboni to finish making it's way around. My boys were so excited they couldn't wait to head out on the ice! I completely know how they feel because my Aunt use to take me ice skating so much when I was a kid... I just loved it! Then hours later we would walk to this great little candy store and she would buy me gummy bears. I still remember eating them very slowly so they would last longer.

After ice skating we headed over to Berryhill's for the best chips and queso. While I was setting enjoying my great fish taco's I noticed this great chandelier/light thingamabob hanging from the ceiling. It was made from recycled liquor bottles with colored lights in the inside. I really like items made from recycled materials so I just was in love with this.

While I was looking at shirts Eleni found an afro ski cap. We spend a good half hour being goofy and close to being asked to leave the store. Nine hours later we end our time together with a chocolate dipped cone...how awesome is that?

Chris Gilmore

So I am totally flabbergasted with an artist named Chris Gilmore. Check out some of the things he has made with glue and cardboard.

That's just way cool!

The Gray Matter

All this paper and I don't have any gray. I was working today and needed some gray but thousands of papers later realized I didn't have a single sheet. I even went to my scrap bin and it was completely empty. Looks like a trip to Texas Art Supply is in order. yeeessssss!

New Art Thursday

I was with my friend the other day and we were talking about butterfly gardens. I came up with a different kind of butterfly garden. I used only Basic Grey papers because they are so awesome!

Coffee Art

My friend Gretchen who lives in New Hampshire (hi Gretchen!) sent me these great pictures of Coffee Art.

Sammy Lin is a barista in New York who serves up fresh ideas with his coffee - the art of your choice. Every day Sammy creates 700 masterpieces for his customers - anything from a swirl to the Mona Lisa.

Azaleas Are Blooming

So yesterday was one of those great weather days in Houston. So I ended up spending the entire day outside enjoying it. The Azaleas are blooming everywhere here and they are so beautiful.

Vox Culture Houston - Benefit Concert and Gallery

I was at the Vox Culture Benefit on Sunday and had the best time. Everyone representing Vox was super nice and so helpful. I could tell from the moment I walked in that I was going to enjoy my time at the event. One of my favorite performers was Josh Wilson

He is so talented! I really think he is going to be a huge star.
GO JOSH

Here I am at the benefit having a good time.

Sushi Anyone??

Are they making you hungry? Some of the matchbooks I used were so old they were falling apart. I really love the old ones because they are warn and scraggy but that can make them hard to work with. Regardless it's still fun!

Cozy

Here is Maddie and Otto all cozy. They hang out with me when I work in my studio. Usually mornings are spent licking the dew off the window.

Carin Berger

My husband and I went to quaint little bookstore and I ran across this great children's book called Behold the Bold Umbrellaphant. Being a paper artist I was excited to see this great cover art by Carin Berger. Check out more of her work at theispot.

The Chocolate Bar Houston

Here is Eleni my partner in crime

I am a lover of all things chocolate so when my girlfriend suggested we head over to The Chocolate Bar I was all in. I got some ice cream that was so rich I only got half way through it...and that's saying something! Parking was yuck but I lived in Boston for five years so really not a big deal for me. However, my girlfriend was smart to park on the side so we didn't have to back up onto West Alabama. Such a great time for this sweet tooth!

Panera Cinnamon Crunch Bagel

My friend Jennifer has been sending me these great gift cards from Panera Bread so I have frequently been going to eat there. She knows that I am a bread and cheese freak so it is the perfect gift. So the other morning my friend Eleni and I ended up there and I thought I would try something new. I got a Cinnamon Crunch Bagel and some tea. OH MY it was heaven on earth! If you live anywhere near a Panera Bread it's a must to try one.

Cinnamon and vanilla chips flavor the dough, topped with a sweet, crunchy shell of cinnamon & sugar...Ummm Yummy
Thanks Jen!

Easy Breezy

Ladies in Skirts

Worked on something simple this rainy Sunday.

Four New Matchbook Art

So here is a few new matchbook cover art pieces I did for an art benefit I will be at on Sunday. I will tell you more about that later but for right now I am going to get some yummy food.

Cafe Artiste

So I was hanging out at Cafe Artiste on Saturday working on business...not so fun. However, the cafe makes talking business a lot more enjoyable especially with my Mango tea! I really enjoy this cafe because it's cozy, and they drip your tea and coffee right in front of you...no reboiled black cup of nasty! It's fresh and aromatic every time you just have to love that!

If your in Houston head over and check it out.
